Monday, July 17th … Day 71 … Road trip to Living Forest Campground, Naniamo, Vancouver Island, B.C.

Wake up at 4am … break camp, hit the road and heading to Port Angeles for a boarding time of 7:15am, arrived there about 6:30, glad we were early because the line was already a couple blocks long. It’s amazing how organized they are moving all these people, trucks, RVs and bikes onboard this vessel in such a short amount of time, I imagined driving our rig onto the deck but instead drove into the belly of the ship! We spent the first half of the voyage inside the observation room, enjoyed some pastries, read the newspaper and then moved outside to relax on the aft deck. Nice ride, still have my sea legs! Drove through customs all they did was ask several questions about firearms then waved us through. Victoria, B.C.  is a mix of old and new, crowded streets, buses everywhere, some double deckers, took a while to get out of the city and finally arrived to our new home for the next seven days just after 1pm. Full hook ups here including cable TV, haven’t watched television in 2 months! Turned it on and fell asleep, just like home … the TV is watching me! We are on the eastern shore of the island with the strait between us and Canada mainland. Large wooded and busy park, not what we are used to but it will work just fine.
