Sunday & Monday, June 25th, 26th … Days 50 & 51 … Oregon
On the road at 7am, beautiful morning, took a back road for about 10 miles through the Redwood forests than hopped on 101N, scenic ride, stopped for a stretch/walk along a beach in Crescent City. Again we are in no hurry, stopping along the way .. nice pace. We have enjoyed the 55/75 deg. Weather we have had the last week or so, when we neared Valley of the Rogue(river) State Park we stopped to refuel, spoke to a fella that said it was 105 deg. there yesterday, should hit 101 today. Oh, oh! At the park early, 11am, our site is empty but not available, lady said she would call when it was, didn’t happen, 2 hours later I came back, fella swapped sites for us, great! On goes the AC, too stinking hot for us for the next 3 days, immediately reserved a site on the coast 150 miles away but closer to our next scheduled stop. Hit the road at 7am again, nice quiet ride, mostly down back roads, yes we found a bakery!(always a good sign). We are now staying at William Tugman State Park in Lakeside, Oregon, across the street is the Pacific and an empty coastline! They let us in right away, very courteous and helpful. Lots to see and do around here. Scheduled an oil change(the works) at a local Ford Dealership for Thursday morning before we depart for our next destination. Called Reserve America and got a refund on the 3 days we did not do at the Rogue. 65 degrees at noon, Life is good!
Quite the day!
No photos of today's post, here is a preview of tomorrow!
Change is good, especially when it is correct!
