Tuesday, August 15th … DAY 100! ... Old Faithful, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
Up early to beat the crowds, 37 degrees outside! On goes the furnace! Off to the Geysers today, Carol packed us a lunch and some hot coffee, all set … topped off the tank … on our way we saw a herd of Elk on the move, we have been here once before (thanks to my Carol’s mother)on a tour so we had a little taste of the park, today we can take our time… and we did … had to wait a while for Old Faithful to blow so we browsed the shops a bit, Old Faithful because it erupts like clockwork, still early, the steam and early morning haze dampened her performance, we continued on following a boardwalk trail, maybe a mile long all while watching and observing dozens and dozens more geysers, many erupting high into the morning air, crystal clear thermal pools boiling away, the heat they put off was welcome in the crisp morning air, gorgeous colors, bright skies, a truly beautiful sight to behold. Crowds are showing up, where did they all come from? We’re gone … stopped at a picnic area for lunch., back at camp for the afternoon…this evening we will walk the lake and maybe a fire and S’mores … On our way back today I saw a fella sporting a shirt that read: “Be Yourself … everyone else is taken”…..
Took 150 photos today!
Wild and Fragile!
